The use of ear candles is evident in many cultures from around the world
and has been used as an effective remedy since ancient times. It is,
however, from the Native American Hopi Indians (meaning ‘peaceful people’)
of North Arizona that the practice of ear candle treatments reached the rest
of the world.
Ear candling
is a safe, simple remedy which can help to relieve pressure in the head,
fighting infection and gently encouraging the removal of toxins and excess
wax from within the ears. Other conditions which may benefit include:
excess catarrh, sinusitis, glue ear, colds, flu, sore throats, rhinitis, hayfever, headaches, migraine, noises in the ear (tinnitus), labyrinthitis,
meniere’s disease, vertigo, stress and tension.
Ear candles are
all-natural products which, even today, are carefully hand crafted. Each
candle is constructed of organically grown flax, honey extracts, beeswax and
therapeutic herbs, including Chamomile, Sage and St John’s Wort. The
candles are approx 20cm long tubes, one end of which is gently inserted into
the opening of the ear canal whilst the other end is lit. This creates a
slight suction which in turn helps to draw out wax and impurities from
within the ear. At the same time, vaporised beeswax and the herbal essences
in the smoke infuse their natural infection-fighting properties into the
inner ear and sinuses. The entire process is extremely relaxing and
non-invasive. |
